Working across footwear, apparel and accessories constructing platforms for innovative material development and implementation following future and market driven lanes. Researching and developing innovative materials, fabric treatment and construction techniques. Collaborating with both footwear innovations and materials inline team to construct design solutions for future products as well as for current design challenges. Targeting and vetting future vendor collaborations and in line implementation.

Material Consultant and Prototype Developer, January 2015 - March 2015
Consulted on third generation prototype for Back2Sleep nighttime sleep back brace. Researched and selected new materials to improve existing prototype. Redesigned and constructed prototype optimizing health impact, wearability, and care. Presented at MIT Sloan Impact: Accelerating Systems Innovation in the Health Industry conference.

Microsoft Research

Artist in Residence, September 2014 - December 2014
Collaborated with sensory technology engineers to seamlessly integrate innovative technologies into wearable, functional apparel design, HydroWear. Worked on developing new dyeing, surface application, and embroidery methods using thermochromic inks and conductive wire. Applied these findings in combination with sensory technology to create fully fashioned knit garment that is activated in response to the body’s vitals.

Knitwear Intern, June 2013 – September 2013
Created mockups and swatches through hand and knitting machine. Composed technical packets for overseas factories, developed CADs and assisted senior designers in fittings for the Spring/ Summer 2014 and Fall 2015 RTW collection.

Advanced Hospitality Carpet Designer, 2008-2012
Created custom hospitality modular and broadloom carpet designs and color palettes for national and international clients and several Fortune 500 firms. Worked with R&D to develop new carpet design creation program (Patent Pending). Developed design process for CYP tufted carpet. Responsible for project coordination, floor planning and dye quantity formulas for dye injected carpet. Developed seasonal color forecasting. Facilitated in the designing of standard collection packages including the award-winning Allume collection.

Atlanta Ballet

Costume Designer, 2008
Privately commissioned to create custom headpiece for Atlanta Ballet’s performance of Firebird. Designed 1940s inspired cocktail hat made of felt with embellishment.
Costume Shop Assistant, 2008
Constructed garments for Atlanta Ballet’s production of Big. Cut and sewed costume patterns constructed of heavy woven and knit cottons, spandex, and plastic. Experienced with costume finishing techniques, hand sewing, hems, closures, zippers, hand embellishing.
