I was born between two rivers in the mountains of Romania. My earliest memories return to me in fragments: the pedal on my grandmother’s sewing machine, my little blue notebook that held the multitude of dresses I was yet to make, the eerily whimsical winter traditions of my native Transylvania. My devotion to textiles and design crept into my life unknowingly and has never left. An incessant desire to absorb all aspects of textile tradition is only matched by my continuous search for original and revolutionary viewpoints to this ancient custom.
My thirst for knowledge led me to receive my BFA in Fabric Design from the University of Georgia(UGA), with a study abroad at the Kawashima Textile School in Japan, and later to earn my MFA in Textiles from the Rhode Island School of Design(RISD). I’ve explored different facets of the industry working with companies such as Converse, Diane von Furstenberg, Microsoft Research, Milliken & Company, Atlanta Ballet, and Hurley. My industry work concentrates on material innovation, sustainability, and circularity projects. In contrast, my personal work and collaborations return to my love of handmade textiles in which years of study and practice, combined with the individuality of my own hand, result in the true expression of my own voice within the long history of textile design.
Collaborations and inquiries are always welcome. Please get in touch via email.
